BRICKBUSTERS

This is adapted from the English TV game show "Blockbusters".

To see how it was played, clips of the show can be found on YouTube.

Select a level.

Divide the class/ group into two teams. Each team will have their own colour, (click on a hexagon to see the two colour options). Each team decides which direction they want to play - top to bottom or left to right.

The aim of the game is to connect the hexagons from one side of the grid to the other. Teams need to choose their moves carefully in order to win the game, blocking the other team when necessary.

Start with the center hexagon. Click on the corresponding letter from the alphabet next to the game board and read the associated clue. The two teams race to answer. The first team to answer correctly wins the hexagon- click once or twice depending on the colour needed.

The winning team then chooses the next hexagon and the game continues.

The first team to connect their hexagons from top to bottom or left to right wins the game.

To ensure everybody participates, each member of the team can be provided with a mini-whiteboard and pen and everyone attempts each question. The team that has the most correct answers from a question is awarded the letter.
